Vermilion Sunset
The Vermilion Lakes are a series of lakes located immediately west of Banff, Alberta, in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. These three lakes are situated in the Bow River valley within Banff National Park, at the base of Mount Norquay. The area offers breathtaking scenery and wildlife viewing opportunities.
Standing on the shore provides a glimpse into a diverse mountain ecosystem. Squirrels play in the trees around the lake, muskrats swim through the reeds, geese float on the water, and countless species of birdlife flit amongst the trees and across the water. The view at sunset is illuminating as the sun lights up Mount Rundle at Vermilion Lakes.
